Each qualification contains a mix of directed research work, development of research skills and taught material. Compulsory modules comprise 130/180 of total credits and optional modules make up the remaining 50 credits.

Assessment
Written examinations, written reports and oral examinations as appropriate.
Entry Qualification
Degree or equivalent in science or engineering, or appropriate professional experience.
These are in addition to the General Entrance Requirements.

Graduates may opt for a career in high technology industry, commerce, or in research in academia or national research laboratories.
